INNOSCIENCE (ASX: 02577) shares surged more than 11%. At the time of writing, the stock was up 11.35% to HK$64.25, with a trading volume of HK$337 million.
The move follows a significant legal development. On June 12, the Supreme People's Court issued a final ruling on a motion for reconsideration, upholding the sales injunction against Infineon originally issued by the Suzhou Intermediate People's Court. This ruling effectively bans the sale of Infineon's related gallium nitride (GaN) products within China, marking a conclusive victory for INNOSCIENCE in the patent infringement case.
Previously, on May 27, the Suzhou Intermediate People's Court had delivered its first-instance judgment. The court found Infineon's infringement to be established, ordering it to immediately cease sales, offers to sell, imports, and other infringing acts, and to pay INNOSCIENCE compensation totaling RMB 10 million in economic losses. That judgment took immediate effect.
Public information shows that INNOSCIENCE is the world's first IDM manufacturer to achieve mass production of 8-inch silicon-based GaN wafers. It has since grown to become the global leader in GaN power semiconductor shipments and revenue share.
Analysts have previously noted that with the continuous increase in GaN penetration in data centers and the humanoid robotics sector, the company's performance is expected to maintain a strong growth trajectory.
