According to the official website of Hebei University, on October 9, Hebei University issued a situation notice.

In response to recent online reports alleging academic misconduct in the doctoral dissertation of Hebei University doctoral graduate Kang Moumou, the university attached great importance to the matter and immediately established a dedicated working group to initiate investigation procedures.

The university has always maintained a "zero tolerance" attitude toward academic misconduct, and once verified, it will be dealt with seriously in accordance with regulations and discipline. The university expressed gratitude for the concern and supervision from all sectors of society.

According to earlier media reports, recently, the doctoral dissertation of Kang Moumou, a 2026 doctoral graduate from the School of Literature at Hebei University, titled "Research on Epitaph Inscriptions of the Liao Dynasty," was reported for allegedly using artificial intelligence tools to assist in generation and for extensively fabricating references.
