KBR Inc's stock plummeted 5.03% during Tuesday's intraday session, as investors reacted to the company's first-quarter fiscal 2026 results which showed a year-over-year decline in both earnings and revenue.
The company reported adjusted earnings per share of $0.96 for the quarter, down from $1.01 in the same period last year, although it beat analysts' estimates of $0.91. Revenue fell 5% to $1.92 billion from $2.02 billion a year earlier. Net income attributable to shareholders dropped 12% to $102 million.
Management cited an expected EUCOM contingency runoff as weighing on the results. Despite reaffirming its full-year fiscal 2026 guidance, the year-over-year declines in key financial metrics appear to have driven the negative market sentiment during the trading day.
