STAR SHINE HLDG (01440) saw its shares jump more than 11% in early trading, reaching HK$13.27, a gain of 11.76% at the time of writing, with a turnover of HK$26.61 million.
On the news front, Hang Seng Indexes Company announced the results of its semi-annual index review on August 21, revealing that STAR SHINE HLDG has been added to the Hang Seng Composite Index. The adjustment is scheduled to take effect after the market close on September 4 and will become active from September 7. Following this, the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges are expected to correspondingly update the eligible securities list for the Stock Connect program.
Given that STAR SHINE HLDG meets a series of criteria, including market capitalization and liquidity, there is a strong possibility it will be included in the Southbound Stock Connect trading pipeline.
Notably, STAR SHINE HLDG previously issued a profit alert, projecting a net profit of no less than approximately RMB 24 million for the first half of the year, marking a turnaround from a loss in the same period last year. This positive outlook is primarily attributed to the robust performance of its intellectual property (IP) peripheral merchandise segment, as well as a fair value gain of no less than approximately RMB 27 million from the group's investments.
