Hohhot has advanced its exploration of drone delivery in the postal and express logistics sector. This initiative aims to solve delivery challenges in remote areas and complex road conditions, and to strengthen the smart logistics system.

The Hohhot Postal Administration recently partnered with Inner Mongolia Transportation Group Jiutian Digital Technology Co., Ltd. and Hohhot Postal Company to execute heavy-load drone flight trials. These tests were conducted in real-world scenarios to comprehensively evaluate the safety, stability, and adaptability of low-altitude delivery models.

The trials closely mimicked daily express delivery needs, focusing on key performance indicators. These included drone load capacity, route navigation, precision landing, battery endurance, environmental adaptability, and data transmission. Staff members flew the drones carrying actual parcels, dynamically monitoring flight posture, payload weight, route accuracy, and safety systems throughout the process. The tests systematically verified the practical effectiveness of heavy-lift drones for tasks such as distribution network supplementation in remote areas, short-distance parcel transfers, and emergency deliveries.

To address persistent challenges like long delivery distances, difficult road conditions, scattered delivery points, and high operational costs in rural and pastoral regions, the Hohhot Postal Administration is collaborating with low-altitude technology companies. They are actively exploring the innovative "drone + delivery" service model, optimizing flight routes, and solidifying test data. This heavy-load flight trial represents a significant upgrade from previous routine tests.

By leveraging the technological advantages of heavy-lift drones—including high payload capacity, long flight endurance, and strong stability—the trials successfully overcame geographical and terrain limitations. This approach helps fill service gaps in grassroots logistics, significantly improves parcel delivery efficiency in remote areas, and reduces end-delivery operational costs.

The successful completion of these real-scenario flight trials has provided valuable practical experience for the routine and large-scale deployment of low-altitude delivery services across the city. Hohhot is now accelerating its efforts to build a comprehensive, efficient, and integrated modern logistics network that combines ground and air operations. This initiative is set to empower the deep integration and high-quality development of the low-altitude economy and modern logistics sectors.
