Birkenstock Holding plc's stock experienced a significant pre-market plunge of 9.70% on Wednesday. The German footwear maker's shares fell sharply following the release of its fiscal second-quarter 2026 results.

The company reported quarterly revenue that slightly missed analyst expectations, coming in at EUR 618.333 million versus an estimate of EUR 620.07 million. Adjusted earnings per share for the quarter fell 9% year-over-year to EUR 0.50, also missing analyst forecasts. The company cited significant currency translation headwinds and incremental U.S. tariffs as primary factors pressuring gross profit margins and adjusted earnings.

Furthermore, Birkenstock disclosed that the conflict in the Middle East negatively impacted its EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) revenue by approximately EUR 6 million, creating an estimated 300 basis point headwind to regional growth. Despite these challenges, the company confirmed its full-year guidance for 13-15% revenue growth and an adjusted EBITDA margin of 30.0-30.5%.
