The Ministry of Natural Resources has initiated a Level IV geological hazard defense response for Beijing and Hebei on July 10th.

Based on forecasts from meteorological authorities and assessments by the Ministry's geological hazard technical guidance center, specific areas including parts of northeastern and southwestern Beijing, as well as central and northeastern Hebei, face a high risk of geological disasters.

The Ministry has directed the natural resources authorities in Beijing and Hebei to heighten risk awareness and preparedness, strengthen bottom-line and extreme-scenario thinking, closely monitor the path and development of the typhoon, and place significant emphasis on disaster prevention and response during the passage of Typhoon "Bavi". They are required to promptly organize inspections and patrols, and effectively carry out monitoring, early warnings, consultation and assessment, disaster and emergency response handling, duty assignments, and information reporting.

Separately, the Ministry of Water Resources has activated a Level IV flood emergency response for Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei provinces on July 10th.

Forecasts indicate that from July 10th to 11th, heavy to severe rainfall is expected in Beijing, Tianjin, and central to northern Hebei due to the combined influence of cold and warm air masses.

Major rivers within the Haihe River basin, including the Luanhe, Chaobaihe, North Canal, Ji Canal, Yongding River, and Daqing River, are expected to experience significant water level rises. The Chaobai River may experience a numbered flood event, and some small and medium-sized rivers within the heavy rainfall zone could face significant flooding.
