BlackBerry's stock experienced a significant pre-market surge, rising 7.40% on Monday.

The rally is supported by a key narrative positioning the company as a beneficiary of physical AI infrastructure. BlackBerry's QNX division released an independent study highlighting that the primary bottleneck in deploying autonomous AI machines is software, not hardware. The research found that while 89% of robotics developers have physical AI on their roadmaps, 91% still run critical workloads on general-purpose operating systems, underscoring BlackBerry's core competitive advantage in reliable, certified real-time operating systems.

Additional positive catalysts include the completion of FedRAMP Class D recertification for BlackBerry's AtHoc platform, which is trusted by 80% of U.S. federal agencies for crisis communication. Furthermore, the company announced a share buyback plan for up to 26.8 million shares, with the repurchased shares to be cancelled, which has bolstered market confidence.
