In Linze County, Zhangye City, Gansu Province, a major national hub for corn seed production, a modern industrial chain encompassing research, cultivation, processing, and sales has been established, leveraging the unique natural advantages of the Hexi Corridor.

On May 13th, a report by China National Radio highlighted complaints from several local farmers. They alleged that during the advancement of farmland construction projects, authorities were forcibly collecting an annual construction fee of 200 yuan per mu from corn seed growers, with deductions scheduled to continue for 15 years.

Following the broadcast of this report, the Gansu Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs promptly dispatched a working group to the area to verify the claims and guide local corrective measures.

The Standing Committee Member, Secretary of the Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection, and Director of the Municipal Supervisory Commission of Zhangye City have traveled to Linze County to oversee a higher-level investigation, supervising the rectification of the identified issues.

Currently, Zhangye City has formed a dedicated task force to conduct on-site investigations and verification, aiming to fully understand the situation and handle the matter appropriately in accordance with laws and regulations.
