Prudential plc disclosed that it bought back 378,345 ordinary shares on Aug, 18 2026 through the London Stock Exchange for cancellation. The repurchase formed part of the insurer’s existing mandate, which was approved on May, 14 2025 and allows for the acquisition of up to 262,668,701 shares.
Following the latest cancellation, Prudential’s outstanding share count fell from 2,499,356,914 to 2,498,974,731 shares. Including earlier transactions, the company has repurchased a total of 113,949,300 shares under the mandate to date, equivalent to about 4.38% of its issued share capital at the time the mandate was granted.
Prudential is subject to a 30-day moratorium on issuing new shares following this buyback, lasting until Sep, 17 2026.
