Heilongjiang Province has officially kicked off the construction of its Artificial Intelligence Education and Teaching Research Center. This initiative, reported on August 18, marks a significant step in the province's efforts to integrate AI technology into the educational sector.

The Provincial Department of Education has designated Harbin Institute of Technology to lead the establishment of the provincial-level center for AI education and teaching research in universities. Additionally, sub-centers will be set up at Harbin Engineering University, Northeast Forestry University, Northeast Agricultural University, Harbin Medical University, and Harbin University of Science and Technology, covering a wide range of disciplines including science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, and humanities.

The center will capitalize on the distinctive strengths of these universities in areas such as aerospace technology, marine engineering, energy development, smart agriculture, and the ice-and-snow economy. Aligned with national strategies and the province's key industrial development needs, it aims to create a differentiated development pattern of "AI + Heilongjiang's advantageous fields." The initiative will conduct forward-looking research on how AI will impact industrial transformation, job restructuring, and skill requirements over the next five to ten years.

By driving changes in academic disciplines, talent cultivation, and scientific research paradigms, the center seeks to bridge the "last mile" between educational supply and industrial demand. It will also explore innovative educational models including future schools, future learning centers, future teachers, and future classrooms, aiming to deeply empower the entire educational process with AI technology.
