Insilico Shares Surge Nearly 14% on Inclusion in Key China Index Series, Following Multiple Major Index Additions

Shares of Insilico (03696) rose strongly against the broader market trend throughout the trading session. By the close, the stock had gained 13.84% to HK$38.34, with a turnover of HK$338 million.

The upward movement follows the company's inclusion in a key China Securities Index series, which took effect on June 15th (this Monday).

Since its initial listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Insilico has been successively added to several major index series even prior to this latest recognition. These include the Hang Seng Composite Index, the Hang Seng Healthcare Index, the Hang Seng Biotechnology Index, the FTSE Global Small Cap Index, the FTSE Global All Cap Index, the FTSE Global Total Cap Index, the CSI Stock Connect Hong Kong Innovative Drug Index, the CSI Hong Kong Innovative Drug Index, and the CSI Stock Connect Hong Kong Healthcare Composite Index.

In a notable development, Insilico announced that ISM8969, co-developed with Hengtai Biotech, has achieved its first clinical milestone with the completion of the first human dosing in a Phase I clinical study.

ISM8969 is an oral, blood-brain-barrier-penetrant, small-molecule NLRP3 inflammasome inhibitor with potential best-in-class qualities. It is intended for the treatment of chronic neuroinflammation and central nervous system diseases, including Parkinson's disease.

According to the agreement, each party holds a 50% stake in the global rights to this project.
