Chu Kong Shipping Enterprises (CKSG) released its 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance Report, detailing new climate goals, operational highlights and audited sustainability metrics for the year ended 31 December 2025.
Key Targets • Carbon-reduction: a 10% decrease in Scope 1 & Scope 2 carbon-emission intensity by 2030 versus the 2024 baseline; a 15% drop in SOx-emission intensity from port and vessel operations by 2030. • Waste-management: incremental programmes to raise recycling rates for all waste streams and curb single-use items. • Energy-efficiency: phased electrification of port equipment, expanded shore-power coverage and progressive fleet transition to LNG, hybrid and electric vessels.
2025 Environmental Footprint • Scope 1 emissions: 52,255.15 tCO₂e; Scope 2 emissions: 7,947.52 tCO₂e; combined intensity: 23.60 tCO₂e per HKD million revenue. • Direct energy use: 201,243.29 MWh, equal to 78.88 MWh per HKD million revenue. • Water consumption: 207,991.03 tonnes. • Hazardous waste: 22.40 tonnes of waste oil and 115 vehicle batteries. • Non-hazardous waste: 438.57 tonnes of domestic refuse and 1,025 waste tyres.

Governance & Risk Oversight • A three-tier ESG governance structure—Board, Governance Group and Working Group—oversees strategy, performance and reporting. • Climate scenario analysis (IPCC SSP1-2.6 and SSP5-8.5) conducted; acute physical risks and renewable-energy transition identified as high-impact factors.
Community & Recognition • Community-investment hours reached 5,231.73, with initiatives spanning youth mentorship, environmental projects and emergency maritime services. • Sun Ferry, a CKSG unit, retained the “Hong Kong Green Organisation” status and won multiple service excellence awards at Hong Kong International Airport.
Financial Snapshot • 2025 revenue stood at HKD 2,551.16 million, versus HKD 2,716.47 million in 2024—used as denominator for intensity computations.
The Board approved the ESG report on 27 April 2026 and reaffirmed its commitment to integrate environmental and social objectives into CKSG’s Greater Bay Area growth strategy.
