Great Wall Motor Company Limited (GWMOTOR) reported a net reduction of 6.93 million A-shares on 20 August 2026 after cancelling part of the 2023 employee share-ownership plan (ESOP). The cancelled shares represented 0.11% of the company’s issued share capital prior to the event and were repurchased at RMB 13.52 per share, implying a cash outlay of approximately RMB 93.71 million.
Separately, on 17 August 2026 the automaker issued 435 new A-shares upon conversion of its A-share convertible bonds, originally issued on 10 June 2021 and eligible for conversion since 17 December 2021. The latest adjusted conversion price stood at RMB 38.72 per share; the new shares increased the register by a negligible 0.00001%.
After these transactions, Great Wall Motor’s outstanding share count fell from 6.27 billion to 6.26 billion, a net decline of 0.11%. No treasury shares were held at period-end, and there were no repurchased shares pending cancellation, on-market treasury sales or additional buybacks reported.
