Karoon Energy Ltd's stock surged 5.03% during Thursday's intraday trading session, following positive analyst commentary and upgraded earnings forecasts.
The rally comes after Macquarie upgraded Karoon Energy from underperform to neutral, citing the probability of more action in the Middle East and potential oil price spikes. The investment bank more than doubled its forecast for Karoon's EPS this year, driven by higher pricing for oil output from the Bauna field in Brazil and Who Dat field in the Gulf of Mexico.
Macquarie also raised its price target on Karoon by 25% to A$2.00 per share, while increasing its 2027 and 2028 EPS forecasts by 52% and 25% respectively. The upgrade reflects improved earnings outlook amid tightening oil market conditions.
