Shares of FTI Consulting tumbled 5.09% during intraday trading on Thursday, following the release of second-quarter financial results that fell short of Wall Street expectations and a downward revision to the company’s full-year earnings outlook.

The consulting firm reported adjusted earnings per share of $2.16, missing the analyst consensus of $2.26. Revenue came in at $993.5 million, up 5.3% year-over-year but slightly below estimates of $997.6 million. Net income declined to $57.8 million from $71.7 million a year earlier, pressured by higher direct costs, increased selling, general and administrative expenses, and rising interest expense. Additionally, the company lowered its 2026 GAAP EPS guidance to a range of $8.70 to $9.30, down from the prior $8.90 to $9.60.

While revenue growth in the Corporate Finance and Technology segments provided some support, cost pressures and the reduced profit forecast weighed on investor sentiment, driving the stock sharply lower in the session.
