Brown-Forman's Class A shares (BF.A) soared 5.62% during intraday trading on Wednesday, following the release of its fiscal third-quarter financial results.
The spirits company reported earnings per share of $0.58 for the quarter ended January 31, surpassing the FactSet consensus estimate of $0.47. Net sales also exceeded expectations, coming in at $1.06 billion against an estimated $1.00 billion. This strong performance, with both top and bottom-line beats, is the primary driver behind the significant upward movement in the stock price.
The positive market reaction was evident in pre-market activity, with other financial reports noting the stock was up more than 7% ahead of the regular trading session.
