Altria Group's stock surged 5.09% in pre-market trading on Thursday following the release of its first-quarter financial results, which significantly exceeded analyst expectations.

The tobacco giant reported adjusted earnings per share of $1.32 for the quarter, beating the consensus estimate of $1.25. Revenue came in at $5.428 billion, well above the expected $4.576 billion. The strong performance was primarily driven by higher pricing on cigarettes and nicotine pouches, which helped offset declining shipment volumes in both segments.

Altria also reaffirmed its full-year adjusted diluted EPS guidance of $5.56 to $5.72, providing investors with confidence in the company's outlook despite challenges in the e-vapor market and increased macroeconomic uncertainty.
