Prudential plc announced that it cancelled 296,421 ordinary shares on Aug, 10 2026, reducing its issued share capital to 2,501,116,932 shares.
The company also disclosed that it repurchased 339,154 shares on the London Stock Exchange on Aug, 10 2026 at prices between GBP 10.38 and GBP 10.48 per share, for a total consideration of GBP 3.54 million (approximately 6.01 million Singapore dollars). These shares are to be cancelled.
In addition, 269,314 shares bought back on Aug, 07 2026 and the 339,154 shares repurchased on Aug, 10 2026 remain outstanding for cancellation.
The purchases form part of the buy-back mandate approved on May, 14 2025, which permits the repurchase of up to 262,668,701 shares. To date, 111,664,765 shares have been bought under this mandate, representing 4.29% of the company’s issued shares at the time of approval.
Under listing rules, Prudential is subject to a moratorium on issuing new shares until Sep, 09 2026 following these repurchases.
