Shares of Pony AI Inc (NASDAQ: PONY) jumped nearly 6% to $8.20 during Friday's trading session.

On August 21, the company, alongside Uber and Verne, announced in Zagreb, Croatia, that its Robotaxi, equipped with Level 4 autonomous driving technology, has officially launched on the Uber platform. This marks the first time European users can hail an autonomous vehicle through the Uber app.

Passengers in Zagreb's city center and urban areas can now select the UberX or Comfort vehicle options between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM daily to potentially be matched with a Pony AI Robotaxi. The operational area and service hours are expected to gradually expand over time.

Zagreb serves as the inaugural city for this collaboration and represents the starting point for replicating the model across additional European markets. On August 14, the three parties announced an expanded strategic partnership, planning to deploy over 2,000 Robotaxis across five key European cities.

The vehicles now in operation are Pony AI's seventh-generation Robotaxi, recognized as the company's global growth benchmark model. In March of this year, Pony AI, together with Verne and Uber, initiated autonomous vehicle testing in Croatia and quickly introduced Europe's first commercial Robotaxi service.
