Chalice Mining Ltd's stock plummeted 5.22% intraday on Thursday, following the company's publication of a corporate presentation detailing the development plans for its Gonneville palladium-nickel-copper project.

The presentation outlined a targeted Final Investment Decision (FID) for the first half of 2028, with pre-production capital expenditure estimated at A$820 million. The company's balance sheet showed A$56 million in cash against a current market capitalization of A$623 million, and its funding strategy highlighted a focus on debt, which could cover 60-70% of the pre-production capex.

The market's negative reaction appears linked to the extended development timeline and the significant capital requirements relative to the company's existing financial resources, potentially raising concerns over future funding and dilution.
