Abercrombie & Fitch's stock surged 5.55% in pre-market trading following the release of its first quarter fiscal 2026 results, which showed better-than-expected earnings performance and maintained positive guidance for the year ahead.
The apparel retailer reported adjusted earnings per share of $1.47 for the first quarter, surpassing analyst estimates of $1.27 to $1.28. While sales of $1.114 billion slightly missed expectations of $1.124 billion, the company maintained its full-year fiscal 2026 outlook, projecting net sales growth of 3% to 5% and earnings per share in the range of $10.20 to $11.00.
The company also announced share repurchase plans of approximately $450 million for the full year, with at least $150 million planned for the second quarter. Additionally, Abercrombie & Fitch provided second quarter guidance expecting revenue growth of 2% to 4% and earnings per share between $1.80 and $2.00, while also revealing it has applied for tariff refunds of around $100 million under the IEEPA program.
