The Ministry of Natural Resources has conducted an emergency response video dispatch regarding the landslide in Pengshui County, Chongqing, which occurred on July 17th. The session focused on deploying emergency response measures and assessing the associated risks.
As part of the response, the ministry has produced comparative materials, including planar remote sensing images and three-dimensional real-scene models, showing the site before and after the disaster. These materials have been provided to the on-site rescue command center for operational use. The ministry is also coordinating the acquisition of additional remote sensing satellite imagery.
Rescue operations are currently ongoing. So far, a total of 18 people have been rescued from the landslide site. Tragically, eight individuals have been confirmed dead. The search continues for 34 people who remain missing.
