Shares of UNISOUND (09678) surged more than 8% during afternoon trading. As of the time of writing, the stock was up 7.22% to HK$169.4, with a turnover of HK$73.8729 million.
The upward movement follows the recent release of the company's latest general-purpose large language model, U2. This model, developed in-house by UNISOUND, is a general-purpose large language model built on a Mixture of Experts (MoE) architecture that integrates fast and slow thinking processes.
U2 represents a departure from the conventional path of indiscriminately scaling up parameters and tokens. It achieves an evolution characterized by "strong capability with small parameters, high output with fewer tokens, and low cost with low computational power."
A research report from Guotai Junan Securities highlighted that U2 has achieved notable results on two key evaluations on the international AI model benchmarking platform LLM Stats. On the LLM Stats Score comprehensive capability leaderboard, U2 entered the top 30 of the overall model rankings. When ranked by the best-performing model from each vendor, it secured the ninth position globally.
Furthermore, in the LongBench-V2 long-context evaluation, U2 achieved an accuracy of 54.4%, surpassing that of ClaudeOpus4.7. The LLM Stats Score evaluation covers multiple dimensions including reasoning, coding, knowledge, tools and agents, and long-context handling. The LongBench-V2 benchmark specifically tests the stability of processing long-context tasks.
