China's Ministry of Finance Successfully Issues 15 Billion Yuan in Sovereign Bonds in Hong Kong

China's Ministry of Finance announced on August 5 that it had successfully issued the fourth tranche of 2026 sovereign bonds, valued at 15 billion yuan, in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on the same day.

The Ministry of Finance stated that the 15 billion yuan in bonds were offered to institutional investors through a tender on August 5, receiving broad market demand with a subscription ratio of 4.67 times. The issuance comprised five tranches: 5 billion yuan in 2-year bonds at a coupon rate of 1.27%; 4 billion yuan in 3-year bonds at 1.30%; 4 billion yuan in 5-year bonds at 1.43%; 1 billion yuan in 15-year bonds at 1.99%; and 1 billion yuan in 30-year bonds at 2.24%.
