The "Cloud Guizhou Library · Scholarly Plateau" digital reading comprehensive service platform, coordinated and guided by the Provincial Party Committee Propaganda Department and the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and built by the Provincial Library, has covered all 9 cities and prefectures across the province since it began operating in April this year.
It has established more than 20,000 service points, spanning rural bookstores, city study rooms, new era civilization practice stations, public transportation hubs and other grassroots settings, with more than 1.77 million users and over 20 million clicks and visits.
A pocket-sized study is allowing high-quality reading resources to cross mountains and reach villages directly, enabling all people to share the benefits of reading and enrich their lives.
As a foundational and inclusive cultural livelihood project, the platform is built on the 250TB digital resource base of the Guizhou Digital Library, bringing together 1 million e-books, 10,000 e-journals, 36,000 video lectures, 1.5 million audiobooks, 470,000 sets of test questions and other massive resources.
It integrates reading, learning, audio-visual content, retrieval and services, operates simultaneously through both PC and WeChat mini-program channels, and offers resources free of charge without being restricted by library premises.
Relying on the internet, the platform has built a service system linking resources and coordinated management across five levels: province, city, county, township and village. Whether people are in towns or rural areas, they can enjoy equally high-quality digital reading services.
Rooted in Guizhou's local character, the platform focuses on building five distinctive resource systems: Guizhou cultural heritage, Guizhou characteristic culture, urban culture themes, services for agriculture, rural areas and farmers, and Guizhou entertainment. Among them, the Guizhou cultural heritage special database gives prominence to red resources such as Long March documents and historical materials on the Zunyi Conference, allowing red genes to be passed down and deeply absorbed at people's fingertips.
The platform also strengthens technological empowerment by launching an AI librarian available around the clock. Through the "Reading Map," people can query in one click the locations and activity information of libraries, city study rooms and rural bookstores across the province, achieving one-stop service for "finding books, finding venues and finding activities."
For nationwide reading, the foundation lies at the grassroots level, and the difficulty lies in the "last mile." The completion and opening of the "Cloud Guizhou Library · Scholarly Plateau" platform is a concrete action by our province to implement the Regulations on Promoting Nationwide Reading and to push nationwide reading toward deeper development.
For rural students, reading resources are richer and their intellectual horizons are broader; for villagers, learning agricultural technology is more convenient, and there is a "cloud classroom" for increasing income and becoming better off; for grassroots cultural development, digital bookstores have become important positions for spreading knowledge, serving the people and supporting rural revitalization.
As service points continue to expand and functions are iteratively upgraded, the quality of the "Scholarly Plateau" will become increasingly substantial, and the spring breeze of nationwide reading is blowing across Guizhou's mountains and rivers, nourishing thousands of households.
