Unity Group Releases FY2025/26 ESG Report: Scope 2 Emissions Intensity Down 1.6%, New Reduction Targets Announced

Unity Group Holdings International Limited (Unity Group, 01539) has published its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report for the financial year ended 31 March 2026, detailing material improvements in carbon performance, waste management and corporate governance across its Hong Kong, Mainland China and Malaysia operations.

Environmental Performance • Scope 2 greenhouse-gas emissions fell 1.6 % year-on-year to 27.33 tCO₂e, with intensity steady at 0.33 tCO₂e per employee. Total reported emissions, including newly captured Scope 3 categories, reached 1,200.81 tCO₂e. • Electricity consumption totalled 46,968 kWh, translating into an energy-use intensity of 559.14 kWh per employee—already 40.1 % lower than the company’s original 2023/24 baseline. • Non-hazardous waste generation declined 26.2 % in intensity to 0.006 t per employee, while office paper usage contracted 30.3 % to 0.33 t. • The group secured 50,000 t of verified carbon credits during the year. • No hazardous waste was generated, and there were no cases of environmental non-compliance.

Forward-Looking Targets Unity Group set new phased goals using FY2025/26 as the baseline: – Reduce Scope 2 emissions intensity by 2 % (short-term), 5 % (medium-term) and 8 % (long-term). – Cut energy-consumption intensity by the same 2 %, 5 % and 8 % milestones. – Lower non-hazardous waste intensity by 2 %, 5 % and 8 % over the respective horizons.

Social Indicators • Headcount stood at 84, with a male-to-female ratio of 1.6:1; turnover rate was 14.29 %. • Average training reached 7.05 hours per employee, and 46.43 % of staff received formal training. • No work-related injuries or fatalities were recorded. • The company upheld zero tolerance for child or forced labour.

Governance and Compliance • The board retains ultimate ESG oversight, supported by an ESG Committee comprising the Chairman, CFO, CIO and COO. • No incidents of corruption, customer complaints or regulatory breaches were reported; 23 hours of anti-corruption and governance training were delivered to directors and senior management. • The group’s supplier base totalled 12, predominantly in Malaysia, and is subject to annual ESG and quality assessments.

Community Engagement Unity Group donated HK$39,000 to Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centre and continued supporting urban digital farming through equipment donations and the “Green One Day” campaign promoting low-carbon salad consumption.

Recognition Recent accolades include the Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence, Sing Tao’s Outstanding Corporate Strategy Award 2024 and Eastweek’s Eco-brand Awards 2024, underlining Unity Group’s commitment to sustainable innovation.
