On August 18, Gigadevice Semiconductor Inc. (SSE: 603986) released its semi-annual report for 2026. In the first half of the year, the company achieved operating revenue of 11.566 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 178.67%. Net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company reached 6.857 billion yuan, surging 1,091.50% year-on-year, while non-GAAP net profit hit 4.883 billion yuan, up 796.90%.

Amid the sharp earnings surge, changes among the top ten shareholders have drawn equal attention. After consecutive reductions in Q3 2025 and Q1 2026, renowned retail investor Ge Weidong opted to rebuild his position in Q2. The semi-annual report shows that as of June 30, 2026, Ge Weidong held 16.4467 million shares of Gigadevice, representing 2.34% of total share capital, ranking as the company's fourth-largest shareholder. Compared to 16.2616 million shares at the end of Q1, he added 185,100 shares during Q2.

Ge Weidong's wife, Wang Ping, also increased her holdings in the company from 7.5732 million shares at the end of the previous quarter to 8.6059 million shares in Q2. Combined, the couple's stake rose from approximately 3.40% at the end of Q1 to 3.57%. This move contrasts sharply with Ge Weidong's earlier actions. In Q3 2025, he cut 1.6953 million shares of Gigadevice, followed by another reduction of 765,100 shares in Q1 2026.

The shift from consecutive selling to fresh buying comes against a backdrop of significant share price volatility. During Q2, the stock rallied sharply before pulling back notably, yet the couple chose to add positions amid the turbulence. Notably, Ge Weidong and his wife are not the only bullish investors. Retail investor Chen Wensi newly entered the top ten shareholder list with 4.5058 million shares, ranking eighth, while Feng Wenyuan held 3.7007 million shares, placing tenth.

Turning to fundamentals, the robust revenue and profit growth in H1 2026 was primarily driven by tight supply in the memory chip industry, which boosted both volumes and prices, as well as strong demand for microcontroller products across industrial, consumer, and automotive sectors. Aligning with the stronger operating performance, net cash flow from operating activities reached 6.048 billion yuan in H1 2026, up 531.47% year-on-year. As of the end of the reporting period, the company's total assets stood at 42.405 billion yuan, net assets at 37.283 billion yuan, with a debt-to-asset ratio of 11.5%.

For Gigadevice, the strong H1 results validate the persistence of the memory chip supercycle, while Ge Weidong's decision to re-enter after consecutive reductions partly reflects top investors' outlook on the company's prospects. With memory chip price increases expected to narrow in Q3, the sustainability of earnings growth and further shifts in the shareholder structure will remain key focus points for the market.
