Countdown to 9th China International Import Expo Reaches 100 Days, Qualcomm, a Ten-Year Participant, Signs Intent for 10th Edition

The 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE) is scheduled to be held in Shanghai from November 5 to 10. As the event approaches the 100-day countdown mark, the launch ceremony for the 10th CIIE recruitment was held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). At this ceremony, 68 companies signed up to participate in the 10th CIIE, with a total exhibition area exceeding 50,000 square meters.

Among them, over 30 companies, including Qualcomm, Samsung, HSBC, and L'Oreal, have become the first batch of "full-attendance" participants, committing to exhibit for ten consecutive years. According to public information, over the past eight editions, the CIIE has attracted a cumulative total of 27,000 enterprises from more than 180 countries and regions, with intended transaction volumes exceeding $580 billion.

It is evident that as the world's first national-level exhibition themed "import," the CIIE has played a crucial role in transforming "exhibits into commodities" and "exhibitors into investors." For example, at the first CIIE, Qualcomm showcased a 5G mobile test platform (MTP) roughly the size of a smartphone. By the time of the second CIIE, Qualcomm directly brought multiple 5G commercial smartphones launched by Chinese manufacturers, completing the transition from "exhibit" to "commodity."

Over the past few years, Qualcomm has collaborated extensively with Chinese industrial partners to drive the large-scale application of 5G across numerous fields, including smartphones, healthcare, and transportation. In March of this year, Qualcomm reached a consensus on 6G development with nearly 60 global industrial partners, including nearly 20 Chinese companies, to jointly promote the development and global deployment of 6G.

In recent years, with the rapid development of generative AI, the technology is being increasingly integrated into various products such as smartphones, personal computers (PCs), and automobiles. The application of AI technology across different industries also relies heavily on industrial cooperation. In this regard, Qualcomm has partnered with numerous Chinese industrial partners, including China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom, Xiaomi, Honor, vivo, OPPO, and ZTE, to launch an "AI Accelerator Program." This initiative aims to accelerate the large-scale implementation of AI, including bringing agentic AI to more terminal devices.

At the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference held recently, Honor and ZTE's smartphone brand Nubia also showcased the latest smartphones equipped with agentic AI, offering users innovative application experiences. Public information shows that at the 8th CIIE held last year, Qualcomm demonstrated cutting-edge technologies such as AI and 6G, along with numerous industrial cooperation achievements, including smartphones, AI PCs, AI glasses, intelligent connected vehicles, and humanoid robots.

Furthermore, Qualcomm was among the first to sign up for the 9th CIIE during last year's event. This year, it is expected to bring more innovative technologies and cooperation results to the exhibition.
