Hohhot Achieves Major Milestone with Large-Scale Green Energy Storage Facility

A massive "green charging bank" has been officially connected to the grid in Hohhot, Wuchuan, marking a significant breakthrough in large-scale independent new energy storage construction in Inner Mongolia. This project, the Yuanjing Hohhot Wuchuan 1GW/4GWh Independent Energy Storage Power Station, is now operational.

Located in Bucunzi Village, Hale Town, Wuchuan County, the facility boasts a total construction scale of 1GW/4GWh, built out in a single phase. It is equipped with 199 sets of lithium iron phosphate energy storage units and a new 220kV step-up substation. The storage devices connect to the substation via a 35kV collector line, and after voltage step-up, the power is transmitted through two 220kV lines to the 220kV side of the Wuchuan substation, ensuring reliable delivery of large-capacity electricity.

After its operation, the Yuanjing Hohhot Wuchuan Independent Energy Storage Power Station will play a crucial role in peak shaving and valley filling. It enables the delayed storage and staggered use of green electricity, effectively alleviating the transmission pressure on the regional grid while enhancing the grid's power supply reliability and power quality.
