MetaOptics Ltd (9MT) has delivered its Automatic Metalens Tester to Pin-Jye Nano Technologies in Taoyuan, Taiwan, the company announced on Mar, 13 2026.
The newly shipped system completes the toolset installed at Pin-Jye, which already houses a Direct Laser Writer deployed in Sep, 2025. Together, the two machines enable full production, 100% sorting and in-depth characterization of glass-based metalens on 12-inch wafers.
Designed for visible and near-infrared testing, the Automatic Metalens Tester measures wavelength- and polarization-dependent optical efficiency and focus quality across a 360° × 120° field-of-view and supports working distances from a few centimetres to infinity. An integrated pick-and-place unit sorts individual dies into JEDEC trays, improving throughput, consistency and traceability for mass-production applications such as co-packaged optics, mobile devices, augmented reality and automotive systems.
Executive Chairman Thng Chong Kim said the deployment strengthens MetaOptics’ regional manufacturing ecosystem by pairing rapid prototyping with automated quality control, and noted that the company is also collaborating with a European foundry to introduce the tester in its facilities.
Beyond Taiwan, MetaOptics plans additional rollouts of Direct Laser Writers, Automatic Metalens Testers and its automatic metalens optical-module assembler as part of the firm’s capital-equipment business unit.
