At a press conference held by the State Council Information Office, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Director of the Information and Communication Administration Bureau, Xie Cun, announced that as of the end of June, China's intelligent computing power scale has reached 2185 EFLOPS (FP16).

The intelligent computing power in the eastern, central, western, and northeastern regions accounts for 55.9%, 10.6%, 32.6%, and 0.9% of the national total, respectively. The overall utilization rate of computing power facilities across the country stands at 71.4%.

Xie Cun noted that the explosive growth of artificial intelligence large models and intelligent agent applications has led to continuously rising demand for intelligent computing power. In the next phase, the Ministry will follow a systematic approach focusing on "points, chains, networks, and surfaces" to optimize the deployment of computing power infrastructure resources, establish computing power interconnection nodes, and enhance the efficiency of computing power resource utilization.
