On the morning of August 1st, the Taishun Wanjia Home-Based Elderly Care Center, located in the Taishun Community on Jingtai Road, Hailing District, Taizhou City, officially opened its doors. Despite the scorching heat outside, the interior of the center was cool and comfortable, drawing nearby community residents eager to experience its offerings.
"The food tastes great, it's clean, and the prices are reasonable," praised Mr. Tang, who was having breakfast at the community canteen on the first floor. That day, Mr. Tang ordered a serving of Taizhou shredded dried tofu, a boiled egg, a steamed meat bun, a bowl of pumpkin porridge, and a side dish, costing a total of 11.5 yuan. It was noted that the canteen's food preparation area is set up as an open kitchen, tidy and bright, allowing every move of the staff to be fully visible. The community canteen manager, Yu Juanping, along with her colleagues, warmly greeted every resident who came in, occasionally fanning them to enhance the coolness. The canteen serves three meals a day—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—catering not only to the elderly but also to young people, children, and other nearby residents, all receiving the same quality of service.
The second floor of the community building houses the home-based elderly care center, dedicated to providing health and leisure services for residents. This space includes wellness rooms, daytime care rooms for the elderly, exercise and fitness rooms, and a tea-study room infused with the elegance of tea and books. Whether for retired seniors or office workers seeking a brief respite, individuals can engage in "spiritual healing" here, participating in公益 book sharing sessions, intangible cultural heritage education, tea art lectures, and sampling various teas for a delightful mental journey.
According to the center's director, Li Wenyan, the service center breaks down traditional barriers between elderly care, dining services, and space management. With universal welfare as its foundation and cultural enrichment as its core, it aims to provide residents with essential livelihood security services while creating a comprehensive space that blends the warmth of health care with cultural sophistication.
