Standard Chartered Group announced that, on May 19, 2026 (Hong Kong, China), the company plans to accelerate investments to prepare for long-term trends, aiming to sustain robust growth, enhance productivity, further improve earnings quality, and expand its competitive advantages. Group CEO Bill Winters stated that the company is investing in building scalable competitive advantages, driving sustainable growth and higher-quality returns, with clear objectives set for this purpose.

The announcement indicated that the company has achieved its medium-term financial targets for 2026 one year ahead of the original schedule. It has established a more streamlined, focused, and efficient structure, positioning the company favorably to capture the next phase of growth and execute its strategy on a larger scale and at a faster pace. Specifically, the company aims to achieve a return on tangible equity above 15% by 2028, an increase of over 3 percentage points from 2025, and further raise it to approximately 18% by 2030.
