Cowell (01415) saw its shares climb more than 6% in early trading on Thursday, before paring gains to trade 3.48% higher at HK$23.76, with turnover reaching HK$35.9 million.
According to the company's announcement, first-half revenue came in at approximately US$1.605 billion, representing a year-on-year increase of 18.0%. Net profit attributable to equity shareholders stood at roughly US$89.874 million, up 33.3% from the same period last year. Basic earnings per share during the period were US$0.104, also reflecting a 33.3% year-on-year growth.
The earnings growth was primarily driven by increased customer demand, higher shipment volumes of premium products, and continuous optimization of the product mix.
Analysts at China Merchants Securities noted in a research report that the company delivered counter-trend growth in the first half, attributing it mainly to better-than-expected iPhone sales in the first half of the year. The brokerage highlighted that Cowell also benefited from its alpha factors, including market share gains, improved production yield rates, and efficient cost control. Despite rising material costs during the period, the company still managed to enhance its operating efficiency, driving its net margin to grow against the prevailing trend year on year.
