Stevanato Group S.p.A. (STVN) shares plummeted 7.72% during intraday trading on Tuesday, as investors reacted to the company's updated full-year revenue guidance that fell short of market expectations.
The sell-off came after the drug containment and delivery solutions provider reported second-quarter 2026 results and revised its fiscal 2026 outlook. While adjusted earnings per share of EUR0.14 beat the FactSet consensus of EUR0.13, and revenue of EUR302 million exceeded estimates, the company lowered the top end of its revenue guidance range. Stevanato now expects full-year revenue between EUR1.26 billion and EUR1.28 billion, compared to its prior range of EUR1.26 billion to EUR1.29 billion. The new midpoint came in slightly below the FactSet estimate of EUR1.28 billion, and the guidance revision was partly attributed to the divestiture of its California-based subsidiary, Balda C. Brewer, Inc.
The company also reported diluted earnings per share of EUR0.08, which included EUR12.2 million in one-time expenses related to the subsidiary sale. Although management highlighted strong demand for high-value solutions and a milestone in its drug delivery systems business, the reduced revenue outlook overshadowed the quarterly beat and triggered the sharp decline.
