Jun 30

On June 30, Direxion Daily Semiconductor Bear 3X Shares (SOXS) fell 8.6% in regular trading, trading at $3.4225/share, with turnover of $573 million.

On the news front, the South Korean president announced the Three Super Projects initiative, under which Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix will co-build four chip factories in the southwest region with a combined investment of approximately 800 trillion Korean won, targeting a doubling of DRAM capacity within five years. Investment in AI data center infrastructure will reach an even higher 1,000 trillion Korean won. Simultaneously, surging power consumption at AI data centers is driving power semiconductors into a new upcycle characterized by rising volumes and prices, with multiple global power semiconductor stocks posting strong gains.

As a 3x inverse leveraged product tracking the semiconductor sector index, the broad-based rally in the underlying sector was amplified through the leverage structure, resulting in a significant decline in this inverse ETF.

The fund invests at least 80% of net assets in financial instruments that provide 3X daily inverse exposure to an index tracking the thirty largest U.S. listed semiconductor companies. The fund is non-diversified.
