Iovance Biotherapeutics, Inc. saw its stock price soar 22.44% during intraday trading on Tuesday.
The significant surge follows the company's announcement of positive early data from a pilot clinical trial of its tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) therapy, lifileucel, for patients with advanced soft tissue sarcomas. The data showed a confirmed objective response rate of 50% in the first six evaluable patients, with the company noting a favorable safety profile consistent with lifileucel in other indications. Iovance plans to commence a registrational trial in the second quarter of 2026 and engage with the FDA on an accelerated approval pathway.
Concurrently, the company released its fourth-quarter financial results, reporting an operating loss of $73.46 million, which was better than the IBES estimate of a $77.4 million loss. Revenue for the quarter was $86.77 million, exceeding analyst expectations and driven by demand for its approved therapy, Amtagvi.
