Qingdao Airport, in partnership with Beijing Capital Airlines, has announced the resumption of its direct air route connecting Qingdao to Vancouver, with services set to recommence on October 2. The reinstated route will stand as the only passenger air link from Shandong Province to North America, providing a significant boost to economic trade and people-to-people exchanges between Qingdao, the broader province, and the North American region.

The service is scheduled to operate once weekly, every Friday, utilizing an Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft. Departing from Qingdao at 12:20 PM, the flight is slated to arrive in Vancouver at 8:40 AM, with an approximate flight duration of 11 hours and 20 minutes. The return leg will depart Vancouver at 10:40 AM and touch down in Qingdao at 3:40 PM, with a flight time of around 14 hours. All times listed are local and subject to actual operational conditions.

To enhance the overall travel experience, Qingdao Airport and Beijing Capital Airlines have introduced a series of passenger-friendly initiatives designed to deliver cost-effective and high-quality one-stop cross-border travel services. Addressing the full spectrum of traveler needs, including dining, accommodation, transport, sightseeing, and shopping, Qingdao Airport will offer complimentary overnight stays for eligible international transfer passengers. Additional perks include dining vouchers for select downtown chain restaurants and a first-day-free parking benefit at the airport's economy parking lot. For international transit travelers, the airport is providing limited free experience tickets to three major cultural and tourism attractions, allowing a choice among the Olympic Sailing Center cruise, the Underwater World, and the "Dreaming of the Sea" performance. Inbound visitors can also take part in the special "Qingyi Fei Free TV Tower Tour" activity. Furthermore, the airport has collaborated with local supermarkets and shopping malls to offer shared membership benefits, aiming to position itself as the preferred gateway for international departures.

Beijing Capital Airlines is concurrently offering multiple service guarantees. Passengers flying with Beijing Capital Airlines on Qingdao inbound or outbound flights, including those transferring domestically to international, internationally to domestic, or internationally to international with intercontinental segments, will be eligible for up to one night of complimentary accommodation during their layover in Qingdao. Additionally, travelers purchasing tickets on Beijing Capital Airlines' self-operated international flights to or from Qingdao who also buy high-speed rail, bullet train, or intercity train tickets between railway stations and other cities, with a connection time of no more than 48 hours between train and flight, can claim a reimbursement of up to 400 RMB per person for economy class and up to 500 RMB per person for business class. Tickets for the Qingdao-Vancouver route are now available through Beijing Capital Airlines' official channels and various ticketing platforms, inviting travelers to embark on their journeys via Qingdao to destinations worldwide.
