On the morning of July 20, Wu Qing, Party Secretary and Chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), visited a securities brokerage branch in Beijing to conduct research and presided over an investor symposium. He engaged in face-to-face discussions with eight investor representatives, encompassing large, medium, and small retail investors, to solicit opinions and suggestions on promoting the stable and healthy development of the capital market.
During the meeting, the investor representatives spoke based on their experiences and insights from investing and participating in the stock market. They indicated that since the implementation of the new "National Nine Articles," China's capital market has generally shown a stable and improving development trend. Recently, influenced by factors such as imported external risks, the A-share market has experienced significant volatility. However, the underlying policy logic, innovation logic, and security logic of the capital market have remained unchanged since the "9·26" period, and short-term fluctuations do not alter the long-term positive trend. Suggestions included strengthening counter-cyclical adjustments in the primary and secondary markets, implementing multiple measures to guide medium and long-term funds into the market, standardizing the development of quantitative trading and AI applications, further encouraging listed companies to increase dividend payouts, raising the cost of securities-related crimes, and fully promoting the high-quality development of the capital market.
Wu Qing stated that the broad investor base is the foundation of the market and the most important participant group in the capital market. The CSRC will persist in advancing the integrated efforts of risk prevention, strengthened regulation, and promotion of high-quality development in the capital market. It will spare no effort in maintaining stable market operations, focus on improving the transparency and authenticity of listed companies to provide better returns for investors, urge industry institutions to operate in a compliant manner and enhance investor service levels, continuously improve the long-term mechanism for investor protection, and resolutely uphold an open, fair, and just market order, enabling investors to better share in the fruits of economic and capital market high-quality development.
Principal officials from relevant departments of the CSRC and the Beijing Securities Regulatory Bureau participated in the symposium.
