Aptiv PLC shares plummeted 13.04% in pre-market trading on Tuesday, as investors reacted sharply to the company's second-quarter earnings release. While adjusted earnings per share exceeded expectations, a revenue miss and a significant downward revision to full-year guidance triggered a heavy sell-off.

The company reported Q2 adjusted EPS of $1.63, beating the analyst consensus of $1.43, but net sales of $3.27 billion fell short of the expected $3.31 billion. The positive earnings surprise was overshadowed by concerns over future growth.

Investor sentiment soured after Aptiv slashed its full-year 2026 outlook. The company now expects adjusted EPS in the range of $5.60 to $5.80, down from the prior $5.70 to $6.10 and well below the Street estimate of $5.91. Full-year revenue guidance was cut to $12.60–$12.80 billion, significantly trailing the consensus of $13.27 billion. Disappointing Q3 guidance, with EPS of $1.25–$1.35 versus the $1.60 estimate, further fueled the decline.
