Shares of WUXI APPTEC (02359) soared 9.94% at the open on Tuesday, after the company reported blockbuster first-half results and significantly raised its full-year 2026 outlook.
The pharmaceutical R&D services giant posted a 38.9% year-on-year jump in first-half revenue to RMB 28.9 billion, while net profit attributable to shareholders surged 33.7% to RMB 11.08 billion. Adjusted non-IFRS net profit attributable to shareholders skyrocketed 83.2% to RMB 11.57 billion. Bolstered by the strong performance and a record order backlog of RMB 66.43 billion—up 25.2% year-on-year—the company lifted its full-year revenue guidance to RMB 58.5–60.5 billion, implying a 35%–39% growth rate from continuing operations, sharply higher than the prior 18%–22% forecast.
Analysts highlighted the robust growth in the WuXi Chemistry segment, which drove revenue up 53.3% year-on-year, and the company’s accelerated global capacity expansion. The stock currently has a consensus “buy” rating from analysts, with a median 12-month price target implying further upside.
