In midsummer, the fields are lush with greenery. Within the 500-acre soybean-corn strip intercropping base in Qiangxiayuan Village, Wangyi Sub-district Office, Tongchuan City, green waves ripple. The corn stands tall and robust, a vibrant emerald, while rows of soybeans cluster densely between them, teeming with life. Villagers weave through the fields, weeding, managing, and laboring meticulously, their cheerful voices and laughter echoing across the land, painting a delightful picture of an imminent bountiful harvest.

"Look at these corn stalks, so thick and sturdy with dark green leaves, and the soybeans are growing exceptionally well too. What a promising sight!" said villager Liang Aifang, her face beaming with joy as she looked at the thriving crops. Agricultural technician Liu Ergou squatted to inspect the seedlings, explaining in detail: "This year, field water and fertilizer management have been spot on. The corn has deep roots and strong drought resistance, while the soybeans have many branches and dense pods. The overall condition of the seedlings far exceeds expectations. As long as we continue with diligent pest and disease monitoring and management, a stable corn yield is assured. Moreover, we can harvest an extra season of soybeans from the same land, making the yield increase advantage very clear."

After hearing Liu Ergou's explanation, the villagers' motivation grew even stronger. Liang Aifang candidly shared that the new planting model has significantly boosted her family's income: "In the past, planting corn alone brought meager returns. Now, with all the land transferred out, the income is stable and secure. Working right at my doorstep adds to my earnings, making life more and more comfortable." Elder Wang, working nearby, also said with a smile, "Over sixty years old, I do light farm work at the base and have a stable monthly income, truly achieving earnings in my later years."

The thriving rural industry and steady increase in people's incomes are inseparable from the deep cultivation and driving force of local enterprises. Dang Lixing, the head of Tongchuan Xinglonghe Agricultural Co., Ltd., is bold and proactive, deeply rooted in the local community. He innovatively implemented a development model of "enterprise + village collective + farmers," effectively revitalizing idle land and surplus labor within the village, activating dormant collective economic resources, and injecting strong momentum into rural revitalization.

The tangible benefits of this initiative are clear and palpable. Since the project's implementation, the village collective receives an annual site rental fee of 40,000 yuan, continuously strengthening the village-level collective economy. The base regularly employs local villagers, with daily wages ranging from 120 to 200 yuan, effectively addressing the issue of idle rural labor and allowing villagers to earn money without leaving the village.

Regarding farmer income, villagers receive a land transfer fee of 400 yuan per mu, while also fully enjoying a national farmland subsidy of 130 yuan per mu. This has formed a diversified income-increasing system where there is "rent from land transfer, wages from nearby employment, and subsidies from pro-agriculture policies." This year, the growth of soybeans and corn in the entire village has reached its best level in recent years, providing solid confidence for a high yield and harvest.

Looking at the present and towards the future, Dang Lixing stated, "Being rooted in the local community and helping fellow villagers prosper is the original mission of our enterprise. I will continue to expand the scale of standardized planting, optimize planting techniques and crop variety combinations, actively explore development paths for deep processing of agricultural products, extend the agricultural industry chain, enhance product added value, drive more villagers to achieve stable income growth, and fully polish the distinctive brand of large-scale grain planting in Wangyi District."

Hou Zhanliang, the village committee director of Qiangxiayuan Village, felt this deeply: "In the past, the village's land was fragmented, labor was idle, and the collective economy was weak. Most young people went out to work. Now, the base employs forty to fifty people year-round. This model has completely revitalized rural resources, turning a development 'dead end' into a 'winning move' for enriching the people and invigorating the village."

Relying on scientific planting techniques and stable order guarantees, the base adopts a strip intercropping method. It reasonably reserves ventilation and light channels and utilizes the natural nitrogen-fixing properties of soybean root nodules to enrich the soil. This achieves mutual benefit, coexistence, quality improvement, and yield increase for both corn and soybeans, with planting benefits far exceeding traditional monoculture models.

Fertile fields produce myriad prospects, and industrial revitalization benefits people's livelihoods. In the current Qiangxiayuan Village, fertile fields promise high yields, people are prosperous, and the countryside is being renewed. The soybean-corn strip intercropping model not only safeguards the baseline of food security and revitalizes rural land and human resources but also achieves a three-party win of increased enterprise efficiency, collective income growth, and farmer enrichment, writing a new chapter for Wangyi District's rural revitalization on these hopeful fields.
