As one of China's four major copper smelting and refining bases, Huangshi City in Hubei Province possesses copper, a key raw material for the electronic information industry. In recent years, leveraging its resource advantages, Huangshi has fully integrated with Wuhan's "optical, chip, display, terminal, and network" industry, establishing a complete electronic information industry chain from copper materials to smart terminals.

In 2011, Wus Printed Circuit Co., Ltd. invested 3.3 billion yuan in the Huangshi Development Zone and Tieshan District, marking a critical leap in the local optoelectronic information industry development. Tang Jianhua, Administrative Director of Wus, noted that Huangshi benefits from its proximity to rivers and ports and a century-old industrial foundation. Over 15 years, the company's products have transitioned from low-end to high-end. Huangshi has meticulously mapped out its industrial blueprint, constructing a comprehensive industrial chain covering "copper foil—fiberglass cloth—copper-clad laminate—printed circuit board (PCB)—display modules—smart terminals."

The continuous improvement of the industrial chain has not only driven product upgrades but also catalyzed qualitative transformations in the industrial structure. Huangshi's PCB products have successfully achieved a triple leap: from rigid to flexible boards, from multilayer to ultra-high-density interconnect boards, and from consumer electronics to high-end servers. The entry of leading enterprises such as Raycus Laser and Nuode New Materials has further broadened the industry's boundaries.

Today, Huangshi has gathered over 250 optoelectronic information enterprises, including 30 leading companies in niche sectors, with an industrial scale exceeding 30 billion yuan, positioning it in the "first tier" of China's PCB industry.

Wu Zhiling, Deputy Secretary of the Huangshi Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, stated that the next steps will focus on two dominant industries: optoelectronic information and smart connected new energy vehicles. Targeting niche sectors such as AI computing boards, optical communication materials, new energy power batteries, and intelligent driving, Huangshi will implement six major initiatives: innovation empowerment, chain extension, scenario application, and enterprise cultivation, to accelerate industrial scale doubling and capability upgrades.
