Yangzijiang Maritime Development Ltd. announced on Apr, 27 2026 that it has signed contracts with independent Chinese shipyards for 10 newbuild vessels scheduled for delivery between 2027 and 2029.

The order covers four product/crude tankers of about 114,000 deadweight tonnes (DWT), four product oil/chemical tankers of about 49,800 DWT and two bulk carriers of about 40,000 DWT.

The company said the newbuilds will be funded through a combination of equity co-investment and debt financing.

Upon completion, Yangzijiang Maritime’s fleet will expand to 105 vessels, including 53 newbuildings currently under construction.

All vessels will be built to International Association of Classification Societies standards and will incorporate eco-notation features, with the 49,800-DWT tankers designed for methanol fuel readiness and compliant with Energy Efficiency Design Index Phase 3 requirements.

Yangzijiang Maritime added that it will consider leasing, chartering and selective pre-delivery resale options to enhance returns.
