CHINAGOLDINTL opened higher and continued to climb, briefly surging 15.38% against the market trend, before closing at 214.60 Hong Kong dollars per share, up 14.64%. The company also announced that management has approved a proposal from its wholly-owned subsidiary to advance the next phase of development for the Tibet Jiama Copper-Polymetallic Mine. The plan aims to expand the combined processing capacity of the concentrator from the current 50,000 tonnes per day to approximately 160,000 tonnes per day. This initiative is still subject to the completion of a pre-feasibility study, as well as subsequent internal reviews, necessary regulatory approvals, and statutory procedures before implementation.

The gold sector showed overall strength today, with most stocks in the sector following CHINAGOLDINTL's upward trend.
