Currently, in the contiguous corn seed production fields of Hongyan Town, Midu County, the seedlings are lush and thriving. Driven by leading enterprises and supported by specialized technical services, the standardized development of the town's corn seed production industry is steadily advancing, establishing itself as a distinctive pillar industry that fosters stable income growth for the local populace.

According to Du Shixing, head of the agricultural team at Hongyan Town's Comprehensive Support and Technical Service Center, this year, 2,055 farming households across 11 villages and 32 districts in Hongyan Town are engaged in corn seed production, with a total planting area exceeding 8,650 acres. Relying on regular field-based technical guidance, the current corn seedlings across the town exhibit uniform growth and promising development.

Du Shixing stated, "Driven by leading enterprises, corn seed production has become one of the pillar industries in Hongyan Town, with an estimated total output value surpassing 25 million yuan."

Fu Wenxiong, a grower from Gucheng Village in Hongyan Town with over a decade of experience in seed corn cultivation, is both a witness to and beneficiary of the local industry's development. He noted that the company arranges for technicians to be stationed long-term for field inspections. Any issues arising in the fields can be promptly addressed by contacting farmers through field identification markers, providing greater peace of mind and confidence in cultivation.

"My family planted over 15 acres of seed corn this year. In the past two years, the income per acre could reach 3,000 to 4,000 yuan. Judging by the current seedling growth, barring major natural disasters, a stable increase of over 3,000 yuan per acre this year should be assured," Fu Wenxiong said.

To solidify the industry's foundation, Hongyan Town leverages the support of Midu Jiabao Agricultural Development Co., Ltd., a key municipal-level agricultural enterprise, to establish a "company + base + farmer" cooperation model. The town government coordinates the planning of planting layouts across districts, the leading enterprise provides comprehensive support covering supplies, technology, and market procurement, and agricultural technicians are embedded in the fields, delivering standardized planting techniques directly to farmers. This tripartite collaboration addresses farmers' two major concerns: cultivation techniques and production-marketing linkages.
