Lijiang Sanyi International Airport's downtown terminal project officially launched on August 8, marking the full implementation of a new integrated air-ground intermodal service model in Lijiang. With summer travel demand running high, the airport's flight movements and passenger throughput continue to rise, placing greater demands on convenient airport-related services for the public.

The newly launched downtown terminal project is a joint effort by the Lijiang Regional Airport Management Branch and Lijiang Civil Aviation Blue Sky Tourism Automotive Service Co., Ltd. It aims to address the urgent and difficult travel needs of the public, uphold the service philosophy of "being one step ahead," continuously improve the city's aviation travel support system, bridge the service gap between the urban area and the airport, shorten the spatial and temporal distance between the city and the airport, and further enhance the quality of passenger services at Lijiang Airport.

This collaboration has innovatively established a new air-ground service pattern of "downtown pre-check-in + dedicated coach express to the airport," successfully extending airport aviation service functions from the terminal to the core urban passenger flow areas. This effectively fills the gap in pre-airport services within the city. Passengers can complete pre-boarding procedures such as flight verification, seat selection, and baggage information registration at the downtown check-in point. Staff will also explain each airline's baggage allowance and fee rules in advance, reducing issues like overweight luggage and last-minute handling from the source. Upon arrival at the airport, passengers without checked baggage can proceed directly to security screening, while those with luggage can go to dedicated counters for fast baggage drop-off, effectively reducing on-site waiting time.

The newly operational downtown terminal leverages the comprehensive transportation network of the established airport express, deeply integrating functions such as downtown pre-check-in, dedicated transit connections, travel information, and cultural tourism convenience services. This fundamentally changes the traditional travel model where residents and tourists had to travel back and forth and wait in long queues at the airport. It achieves a one-stop check-in experience in the city, pre-procedure handling, seamless point-to-point connections, and efficient, convenient travel, fully catering to diverse scenarios including tourist travel, daily commuting, and business trips, while continuously optimizing the air-ground intermodal service system.
