China Hongqiao Group Limited (CHINAHONGQIAO) disclosed a material change in its share capital following the cancellation of previously repurchased shares and a fresh round of on-market buybacks executed on 6 May 2026.
The company cancelled 11.28 million ordinary shares, originally repurchased on 28 April 2026, lowering the issued share count by 0.11% to 9.91 billion shares.
On the same trading day, CHINAHONGQIAO repurchased an additional 17.95 million shares on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The transactions were executed within a price band of HKD 32.28 to HKD 33.74 per share, translating into total consideration of HKD 594.99 million. These shares have not yet been cancelled and therefore remain part of the issued share capital as treasury shares pending cancellation.
Under the repurchase mandate approved on 7 May 2025, the company is authorised to repurchase up to 935.99 million shares. Including the latest buyback, cumulative repurchases stand at 239.17 million shares, representing 2.56% of the share base at the mandate adoption date. A 30-day moratorium on new share issues or treasury share sales remains in effect until 5 June 2026, in line with Hong Kong Listing Rules.
