Typhoon "White Dolphin" Causes Severe Flooding at Suzhou Mall, XPeng Showroom Vehicles Swept Away

On August 10, a shopping mall in Zhangjiagang, Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, suffered severe backflow from Typhoon "White Dolphin," flooding multiple stores on the basement level. Several display vehicles from the XPeng experience center were swept away by the current.

According to eyewitness Mr. Mu, around 3:00 PM, multiple stores in the basement floor of Mambate Shopping Plaza were submerged. The rapid water flow shattered the glass of the XPeng experience center and washed away several exhibition cars.

The Mambate Shopping Plaza, which is part of the Heilan Group commercial complex and has been operational since 2014, is located near a river. At around 12:00 PM on August 11, a reporter contacted the mall. A customer service representative stated that all stores in the mall had been closed, and staff were conducting post-disaster cleanup. The specific extent of the losses is still being assessed.

It is reported that at around 11:00 AM on August 10, the Zhangjiagang Meteorological Observatory issued a yellow rainstorm warning, which was upgraded to a red rainstorm warning at around 2:00 PM.
